Αποστολή της Δημοτικής Πινακοθήκης είναι η ανάδειξής της σε χώρο όχι μόνο μουσειακό όσο και σαν χώρο σύγχρονο όπου οι διάφοροι τομείς της Τέχνης, της Επιστήμης και του Λόγου συνυπάρχουν αναζητώντας ο ένας τη συνδρομή του άλλου ώστε να γίνει εφικτή η υλοποίηση στόχων και οραμάτων που ο καθένας από αυτούς μπορεί να προσφέρει στο κοινωνικό σύνολο.

The Municipal Art Gallery of Chania, aims to use its Gallery space, not only as a Museum but as a contemporary room through which its temporary and permanent collections, educational programmes, creative activities for children and families, as well as conferences communicates with the general public and actively participates in the social and cultural cohesion of the city of Chania.
