Kleo Xirou was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1970. She studied Philosophy at Syracuse University.
Founder of the Athens based KleoDrums workshop since 1999, she has gained international acclaim for her work as drum artisan.
Her handcrafted ceramic and wooden percussion instruments, preferred by world-class musicians and composers, use traditional techniques, contemporary means and the finest materials to achieve their distinctive acoustic and aesthetic style. Kleo’s collaborations also include international dance and theatre companies, museums and academic institutions.
